WAUKESHA -- Waukesha South High School is 'safe and secure' after a student and a school resource officer exchanged gunfire at the school Monday morning, according to a district spokesperson.

The student was struck by gunfire in the exchange, according to the spokesperson. There's no word yet on their condition.
