The film shows schoolchildren proud of the fact that their fathers and grandfathers were whalers;
映画では、学童たちは父や祖父が捕鯨漁師であることを誇りにしていると描かれている。
But it also shows the Western activists from Sea Shepherd and other groups who give up huge amounts of their time
to come to a foreign country to try to protect animals they care deeply about.
しかし一方、シーシェパードその他からの西洋人活動家は多大な時間を割き外国までやって来てまで、
自分が可愛がる動物を守ろうとしている。
Sadly, it also shows the deep divides between the two sides:
with activists describing whalers and whale and dolphin hunting as "barbaric," "uncivilized" and "shameful,"
and townspeople who see the other side as "prejudiced," "racist" and using dolphins and whales as a "business" to raise funds.
悲しいことに、両者を隔てる溝が深く描かれている。
活動家たちは漁師と漁を「野蛮」「非文明的」「恥」などと呼び、
町民たちは反対に「偏見」「人種差別」「鯨類を金集めの道具にしている」と言っている。
