EMERGENCY services have raced to a factory in Glasgow amid reports of an "explosion" this afternoon.
Police responded to the South Street area at 3:30pm and officers are currently at the scene, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Police have confirmed the incident is ongoing but cannot provide details.
A spokeswoman from the local fire department cannot confirm details at this time either.
One resident, who did not want to be named, told Glasgow Live they heard a loud bang and could hear alarms going off.
They said: "It was a massive big boom, it was scary and our house shook."
Another speculated it sounded like a gas explosion.
They added: "Windows were shaking and you could hear house and car alarms going off."
Witnesses have had said they heard a loud bang and one has reported seeing a "ball of smoke".
