17 people were injured, including three killed, on Tuesday morning in Kanagawa prefecture, 20 km to the south west from central Tokyo.
The victims were reportedly mainly school children on their way to the school. The terrorist, a man in his 40s or 50s, attempted to kill himself and is in critical condition.
This is in the midst of Japan hosting Donald Trump, U.S. President, on the final day of the four-day official visit as a national guest.
He is scheduled to visit Kanagawa today to deliver his message at the US-Japan joint naval facilities in Yokosuka. It is unknown that the attack is related to President’s visit.
