米東部ニューヨーク市のデブラシオ市長は１４日、ＣＮＮテレビの番組で、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大が続いているため、
今後数週間でロックダウン（都市封鎖）が必要になる可能性があると警告した。
ニューヨーク市のレストランでは１４日から店内飲食が禁止となった。これまでは客数を定員の２５％に制限した上で認められていた。
デブラシオ氏は「感染拡大の勢いを止めなければならない」と述べ、厳格な外出制限や営業規制に備える必要があると強調。
ニューヨーク州のクオモ知事も１４日の記者会見で同様の認識を示した。
ニューヨーク市によると、市内の過去７日間平均の陽性率は約５・５％。
