Three sisters who admitted to killing their 'mafia boss' dad have hit back at claims they invented complaints of him sexually attacking and beating them.
The siblings Kristina, 19, Angelina, 18 and Maria, 17, face long jail terms after they took it in turns to stab Mikhail Khachaturyan, 57, more than 31 times and repeatedly smashed his head with a hammer.
But they claim their dad was sexually abusive and allege he threatened to kill them on several occasions.
A neighbour claimed he would burn the teenagers with iron rods and beat them with a belt.
The sisters also claimed their dad would make them parade naked in front of him.
They were dramatically taken in handcuffs by Russian police to reenact the moment they took it in turns to stab their father at the crime scene.
The siblings have been pictured and shown on video returning from their detention cells to the family flat in Moscow where they killed the man they called a “monster”.
Angelina said they would rather now face a long jail sentence than suffer more at the “despot’s” hands.
And currently, unless judges show mercy because of his alleged “torture” and “sexual violence”, they face between eight and 20 years in jail after confessing to killing their father.
A new custody hearing is due tomorrow but so far the courts have ruled they must remain in detention while they are investigated for acting in a gang to commit premeditated murder.
“No matter how things develop, I'm ready for anything,” vowed Angelina.
“I have no regrets.
“It was no longer possible to tolerate what he did to us.
“Prison is better than living with him.
“From the age of ten - beatings, from 14 - sexual harassment.
“When he drove mother out three years ago, things got really bad.”
Alleging she and Kristina suffered incestuous sex attacks by their father, she said: "He forbade modern clothes, walking on the street, using social networks.
“But probably we could tolerate all this if there were not even worse things…me and my sister suffered from sexual violence”.
She told a human rights monitor who visited her in custody: “As long as I can remember, he always beat us.
“There were so many weapons at home.
“A pistol, a revolver of some kind, a shotgun.
“A baseball bat, knives. Many times he threatened to kill us.”
They did not go to police because officers had previously visited the family home but everything had allegedly been “hushed up”.
