アメリカのホワイトハウスはバイデン大統領が今月25日、ウクライナの隣国、ポーランドの首都ワルシャワを訪問すると発表しました。
バイデン大統領は翌26日にポーランドのドゥダ大統領と首脳会談を行う予定で、ウクライナの人道危機などについて議論するとしています。
バイデン大統領は今週、NATO＝北大西洋条約機構やG7＝主要7か国の首脳会議に出席するためベルギーの首都ブリュッセルを訪問することになっていて、これにあわせてポーランドも訪れることになります。

Biden warns of "evolving intelligence" suggesting potential Russian cyberattacks against the US
US President Joe Biden on Monday urged private sector partners “to harden your cyber defenses immediately,” pointing to “evolving intelligence” indicating “the potential that Russia could conduct malicious cyber activity against the United States”
While pledging his administration would “continue to use every tool to deter, disrupt, and if necessary, respond to cyberattacks against critical infrastructure,” the President in a statement acknowledged, “the Federal Government can’t defend against this threat alone.”
“Most of America’s critical infrastructure is owned and operated by the private sector and critical infrastructure owners and operators must accelerate efforts to lock their digital doors. The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has been actively working with organizations across critical infrastructure to rapidly share information and mitigation guidance to help protect their systems and networks.”

US discussing providing high-altitude air defences to Ukraine
Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby says the US is in "ongoing discussions" with other countries to provide long-range air defence systems to Ukraine.
To date, the US has provided Stinger man-portable anti-aircraft weapons to Ukraine. These systems, however, are primarily effective against helicopters and low-flying aircraft, rather than higher altitude combat aircraft.
It has been reported a number of countries - including Slovakia - have expressed a willingness to give Ukraine S-300 anti-aircraft systems, provided they receive something to replace them.
Ukraine already uses the S-300 and has personnel trained in its use.
While Kirby does not comment directly on Slovakia or the S-300, he says the US is in "active consultations" about “the kinds of defence capabilities to include long-range air defences, that we know that they’re [Ukraine] comfortable using."

Biden and European leaders discuss Ukraine support
US President Joe Biden has held a phone call with European leaders to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine, the White House has announced.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was on the call, as was Italian PM Mario Draghi, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron.
In a statement, the White House said that the leaders "discussed their serious concerns about Russia’s brutal tactics in Ukraine, including its attacks on civilians".
"They underscored their continued support for Ukraine, including by providing security assistance to the brave Ukrainians who are defending their country from Russian aggression, and humanitarian assistance to the millions of Ukrainians who have fled the violence," the statement added.
Biden is scheduled to travel to Europe later this week for meetings with Nato, EU, and G7 allies in Brussels, followed by a bilateral meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw on Friday.

Biden to announce more sanctions during Europe trip
As we reported earlier, US President Joe Biden plans to announce a new sanctions package against Russia during his trip to Brussels and Warsaw this week.
Biden will visit the Belgian capital, where Nato and the European Union have their headquarters, to hold talks with foreign leaders on Thursday. He will be accompanied by the US Secretary of Defence, General Lloyd Austin.
He will then travel to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, on Friday.
"He will have the opportunity to co-ordinate on the next phase of military assistance to Ukraine," Jake Sullivan, the US national security adviser, told reporters.
Biden, he added, "will join our partners in imposing further sanctions on Russia and tightening the existing sanctions to crack down on evasion and to ensure robust enforcement".

UK will 'increase economic pressure' against Russia, says foreign secretary
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba have spoken this evening.
During the call, Ms Truss said the UK and its allies will "increase economic pressure" on Russian President Vladimir Putin's regime.
It comes amid reports that Western allies are considering whether Russia should remain in the G20 group of major economies.
The G20 is a key platform for coordinating responses to issues including climate change and cross-border debt.

First deliveries of $800 million in new US military aid have been delivered to Ukraine
The first deliveries of the $800 million in new military aid that US President Joe Biden is sending to Ukraine have started to arrive in country, an administration official tells CNN.
Biden announced the new package last week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered an impassioned plea to Congress for more help.
The US will continue to move the rest of the $800 million into Ukraine as quickly as possible, the official said, given it includes 800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems and 100 armed drones, among other assistance. Both are seen as critical to Ukraine's defense.

逮捕されたのは、ウラジーミル・プーチン容疑者。
ただし、この男は、ロシアの大統領を務めるウラジーミル・プーチン氏とは別人。
警察によれば、同容疑者は警官に名前を告げることを拒んだという。
プーチン容疑者は警察官に抵抗したなどとして起訴された。
プーチン容疑者に弁護士がついたかどうかは不明。
